About cyber teams

The project focuses on informal education in cyber and information security. Student security teams are being created in partner schools. Their goal is to educate themselves so that they can educate their surroundings. From classmates, teachers and parents, to students in nearby elementary or kindergarten schools or seniors and people in day care centers. The education of high school team members is carried out in several training modules and after their successful completion, students receive a certificate.

Team formation – September

At the beginning, it is important for the teacher to spread awareness about the project among the students in their school and motivate them to get involved. This phase can be challenging for the teacher at first, so we are preparing online meetings/lectures on how to create and lead a cyber team at school.

Education - throughout the year

The main goal of the project is education. Cyber team members and teachers who lead the teams receive regular training to further educate and spread awareness. The training takes place in several parts.

Introductory training

The introductory training is a one-day meeting at the Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Science, UPJŠ, which consists of a lecture and several practical workshops. The aim is to give new team members a basic overview of cybersecurity, introduce them to specific topics, and provide them with an "entry capital of knowledge" on which they can start building their activities, plan content, or choose an area they would like to focus on.

Online lectures

A series of regular online meetings with experts from various fields such as media, law, psychology, cybersecurity research.
Lectures for teachers will also be added.

CyberSecurityDays

CSDs are organized once every six months and are open to the public. They consist of a lecture and 2 blocks of practical workshops.

Lectures on request

Each team has the opportunity to attend an additional lecture on any topic.

Final training camp

At the end of the school year, all teams are invited to the Danišovce educational facility for a weekend educational stay. In addition to other workshops, there is also a presentation and evaluation of the activities of the individual teams.

Team activities - throughout the year

The goal of the cyber team is to educate its surroundings. Each team should implement at least one of the activities listed below. These are considered one of the measurable indicators for a fair evaluation of the teams' work at the final training camp.

In addition to lectures and workshops, individual teams will present their work and activities that they implemented during the school year, a summary of their success, experiences and plans for the future.
