The project involves several UPJŠ departments and researchers with relevant expertise. 

Involved workplaces

CSIRT-UPJS

CSIRT-UPJS is an academic security team which is an integral part of the central IT workplace – CIaKT. The task of this team is to prevent security incidents and, if they are identified, to carry out an adequate response. As part of their activities, they search for security vulnerabilities, educate employees and students in the field of KIB, as well as spread security awareness among the general public. At the same time, members of this team propose and help implement security measures to prevent security incidents. This team has knowledge and experience in solving real security incidents. A more detailed description of the involved researchers is contained in chapter no. 6.2.2. of this project.

The Center for Lifelong Learning and Project Support of UPJŠ

The Center for Lifelong Learning and Project Support of UPJŠ (hereinafter referred to as "CCVaPP", established in 2016), through the Project Support Department (hereinafter referred to as "OPP"), provides central support for the preparation and implementation of national and foreign projects at UPJŠ in Košice and monitoring their sustainability after the completion of the projects. OPP fully implements the management and administration of grant scheme projects through project/financial managers and relevant administrative support, in particular: structural funds, recovery and resilience plan, national schemes (APVV, VEGA, KEGA, development projects), grants from private sources of financing, cross-border sources (ERDF), foreign (HORIZON EUROPE, DIGITAL, ERC) and others. OPP creates and professionally coordinates relevant project teams at the university-wide level. The number of successfully implemented projects to date has exceeded 100. Professional employees of the Education Department (hereinafter referred to as "OV") and the Economic and Technical Section (hereinafter referred to as ETÚ) of CCVaPP will also be involved in the main activities of the project in connection with the performance of activities in activities A1 and A7. This is personnel who has many years of experience in the educational field and the development and management of internal systems/portals that are used both for the educational field and for other support activities. Typical activities of the OV: educational programs and courses for state and local administration, testing for obtaining international ICDL certificates, popularization activities for secondary and elementary school students (lectures, workshops/webinars, summer camps, clubs), education of elementary and secondary school teaching and professional staff, LMS management for further education, LMS management for university studies at UPJŠ, university staff education programs to achieve the required professional standards, creation of study materials, methodological and technical support for e-learning, technical support for UPJŠ portals under the management of CCVaPP.

Information and Communication Technology Center (CIaKT)

The project involves employees of this department with experience in the management and security of WAN networks, LAN networks and workstations. Several of them also have experience in training employees and the public in their domain. 

Faculty of Science, UPJŠ

Employees of the Institute of Informatics of the Faculty of Science, UPJŠ participate in the project. They provide teaching of subjects in the study programs of informatics, applied informatics and data analysis and artificial intelligence. At the same time, as part of their research activities, they are dedicated to several topics of information and cybersecurity, especially the analysis of digital traces, automation of response to security incidents and digital forensic analysis, multi-stage attacks and prediction of situational awareness in cybersecurity. At the same time, members of this institute are dedicated to formal concept analysis, graph theory and various machine learning methods, which they apply to the field of information and cybersecurity as well as the analysis of legal texts. A more detailed description of the involved researchers is contained in chapter no. 6.2.2. of this project.

Faculty of Law, UPJŠ

The project involves researchers from several departments of the faculty, which ensures a comprehensive approach to the analyzed issue of information and cyber security, which has a criminal, commercial, civil, constitutional, financial and theoretical legal dimension from the point of view of law. For this reason, experts from the Department of Commercial Law and Economic Law, the Department of Civil Law, the Department of Criminal Law, the Department of Financial Law, Tax Law and Economics, the Gustav Radbruch Institute of Legal Theory and the Department of Legal Clinics were involved in the project. A more detailed description of the researchers involved is contained in chapter no. 6.2.2. of this project. 

Faculty of Arts, UPJŠ

The project involves researchers from several departments of the faculty, which also documents the interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the issues that are the subject of the project in the case of this faculty. Experts from the Department of Political Science, the Department of Educational Psychology and Health Psychology, and the Department of Philosophy will be involved in the project. A more detailed description of the involved researchers is contained in chapter no. 6.2.2. of this project.

Faculty of Public Administration, UPJŠ

The project will involve experts from the Department of Public Policy and Theory of Public Administration, whose expertise suitably complements and specifies the researched domain for the area of ​​public administration. A more detailed description of the involved researchers is contained in chapter no. 6.2.2. of this project. 

Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ

The Institute of Medical Informatics and Simulator Medicine is participating in the project. As part of its pedagogical activities, this department provides teaching of informatics in all study fields offered at the Faculty of Medicine. In selected study fields, it provides teaching of information systems intended for the field of healthcare and mathematical and statistical processing of medical data. The scientific and research activities of the institute are focused on supporting electronic education, creating multimedia works, using videoconferencing technologies, mathematical and statistical processing of experimental data, developing and operating a computer network, implementing information systems and introducing modern information and communication technologies into research, pedagogical and clinical processes implemented at the faculty. As part of the project, members of this department will participate in educational activities aimed at public administration employees, recommendations for public administration, as well as preparing a subject for future KIB specialists.

Bc. Zuzana Hennelová

is an IT professional who performs analytical work within the CSIRT-UPJS security team, mainly focusing on resolving security incidents. Within the project she will participate in activities: A3, A5, A6 and A8.

Mgr. Jakub Mohler

is an IT professional who performs analytical work within the CSIRT-UPJS security team, mainly focusing on the analysis of security vulnerabilities and measures to resolve security incidents. Within the project he will participate in activities: A3, A5, A6 and A8.

Bc. Michal Šafranko

is an IT professional who performs analytical work within the CSIRT-UPJS security team, mainly focusing on resolving security incidents, identifying security incidents and performing digital forensic analysis. Within the project he will participate in activities: A3, A5 and A6.

Mgr. Miroslav Baranko

works as a system programmer and within the project will act mainly as a network security trainer (Activity A6). He will also participate in the system and network support of the project and in providing expert activities - security incident response (Activity A5).

Ing. Miroslav Pomikala

acts as the head of the local support department and the administrator of operating systems and will provide local system support within the project (Activity A1). At the same time, he will act as a trainer for public administration employees - training for professional employees (lay people) (Activity A6).

is an associate professor at the Institute of Informatics at the Faculty of Science and will be involved in research activities within the project. His participation in the preparation of the new study program will be particularly important.

works as an IT professional and will participate in educational activities and the preparation of a new study program within the project. 

RNDr. Peter Gurský, PhD.

works as a professional assistant for the project and will participate in research activities (Activity A4) within the project, mainly related to the analysis of legal texts in the field of cybersecurity.

is a professor at the Institute of Informatics at the Faculty of Science and will participate in research activities (Activity A4) within the project, mainly related to the automation of forensic analysis and the analysis of legal texts in the field of cybersecurity.

is an associate professor at the Institute of Informatics at the Faculty of Science and within the project, he will participate in research activities (Activity A4), mainly related to the automation of forensic analysis and analysis of legal texts in the field of cybersecurity. works as a professional assistant for the project and will participate in educational activities, the creation of methodologies, educational materials and documentation (Activity A2) within the project. At the same time, he will participate in educational activities for public administration employees in the position of a lecturer (Activity A6).

is a researcher. Within the project, he will participate in educational activities, creation of methodologies, educational materials and documentation (Activity A2). RNDr. Richard Staňa

is an IT professional and within the project will participate mainly in scientific activities focusing on situational awareness in cybersecurity (Activity A4) and in activities related to the establishment of the KB Center (Activity A1).

Mgr. Ján Vavrek (planned position)

 

works as a high school teacher focusing on professional IT subjects. Within the project, he will mainly participate in educational activities (Activity A3 and A6) focusing on teaching computer networks.

RNDr. Mária Vavrová (planned position)

works as a high school teacher and also as the head of the high school cyber team at the cooperating high school. As part of the project, she will participate in the creation of educational materials and documentation and in educational activities aimed at high schools (Activity A3 and A6).

Doc. JUDr. Renáta Bačárová, PhD.

associate Professor of Civil Law specializing in the field of information technology law and intellectual property law. She will participate in educational activities (Activities A3 and 26) and expert activities (Activity A5). She will also be involved in the preparation of educational materials and documentation (Activity A2).

researcher specializing in the field of information technology law and personal data protection. She will participate in the project in scientific research (Activity A4) and expert activities (Activity A5).

professor of State and Law, specializing in the protection of human rights in the context of cybersecurity. She will participate in scientific research activities (Activity A4) in the project. She will also participate in cooperation with foreign partners (Activity A8).

an expert with experience in the field of negotiation with a special focus on security teams. His participation in the project is planned mainly in educational activities (Activity A3 and A6).

RNDr. Simona Rindošová, PhD.

professional employee of the Horizon Office of the Support and Projects Department of the Center for Lifelong Learning and Project Support; has been working at UPJŠ since 2021 as a project and financial manager and provides professional advice primarily in the preparation and implementation of projects of the so-called Brussels calls such as Horizon2020 European Research Council; in the project, he will act as a senior expert with coordination activities in activity A9.

Ing. Jozef Jantošovič

is the head of the Information and Communication Technologies Center and will participate in organizational and professional activities related to the establishment of the Competence Center (Activity A1) within the project. He has more than 10 years of experience in managing an IT workplace and implementing the infrastructure part of projects.

Mgr. Miroslav Baranko

works as a system programmer and within the project will act mainly as a trainer in the part of the training related to network security. At the same time, he will also participate in the system and network support of the project (Activity A1). He has experience in managing a large computer network with over 8,000 devices, central network services and other systems (e.g. Microsoft 365).

Bc. Jana Berezňáková

 

is an IT professional and will provide local system support (Activity A1) within the project. He has experience with endpoint support and configuration and management of various types of devices and operating systems.

Ing. Ján Ondrej

works as a system programmer and will work mainly on system and network support of the project. (Activity A1). He has experience in managing a large computer network with over 8,000 devices, central network services and other systems based mainly on the Linux operating system.

Ing. Miron Kuzma

works as the head of the Center for Applied Informatics of the Faculty of Information Technology. He has also worked as a system programmer and systems administrator, and in his leadership position he is also involved in the architecture of various ICT systems. As part of the project, he will participate in supporting the operation of the Competence Center infrastructure (Activity A1).

works at the Center for Applied Informatics of the Faculty of Philosophy as a system programmer and systems administrator. Within the project, he will participate in supporting the operation of the Competence Center infrastructure (Activity A1). He has several years of experience in implementing and managing various types of technologies and operating systems.
